Contour Line Project
In this project, I enlarged three objects from the art room and drew the contour lines. Different lines and patterns were used to fill the space between the contour lines. I used markers and colored pencils in a triadic color scheme with orange, purple, and green for the whole piece. This project was good practice for exploring using different lines and understanding color schemes. I can continue using and improving these skills in future projects for this class.

Ink Blowing
I placed drops of ink across the page and blew through a small straw to spread it, creating unique patterns. With this technique, I made the tentacles of jellyfish. It wasn't easy to control where and how the ink was spreading. For the other details, I used a thin-tip sharpie to outline the top of the jellyfish and bubbles.

Clay Pallet
This project aimed to create a pallet that could be used while we painted with enough wells to hold the paint. It was created by carving out a flat piece of clay and adding a foot to the bottom to help it sit. I carved it into a heart shape because I thought it was a nice design and something I could use in my room as a jewelry dish. After being fired, it was coated with three layers of a clear glaze before being put into the kiln again.
Landscape Painting
This painting was made by following one of Bob Ross' videos. It challenged us by having us mix the paints, and use different brushes to create different parts of the landscape, and it had us paint things we had not practiced before like clouds and mountains.. It also used skills we practiced in class, for example, we had covered how to paint trees in a previous class which made the process of the Bob Ross painting easier.
Perspective Drawing
This was a practice for drawing different perspectives. It shows a two-point perspective of buildings of varied shapes and sizes. We learned how to draw perspective in class by learning about the horizon line and vanishing point. We used paper, a ruler, and an eraser for this piece. It was good practice for a skill that could be used in different pieces.

Sewing Project
We learned different stitches such as running, blanket, and French knots to create our designs in class. The cat was my practice piece while the cake was my final project. We had to choose a food or meal to recreate out of felt, and I decided to make a birthday cake.

Water Color
Our class chose two watercolor paintings to follow along with and recreate. While one layer was drying on one of the paintings we would work on the other. Painting with watercolors was much more difficult than acrylic paints since covering up your mistakes with thicker paint is much easier. I found it difficult to blend the paints the way I wanted to but I am happy with how most of the foliage came out in the foreground of each painting.

Print Making
We were assigned to carve a symbol that represented love. I sketched out an image of a key onto a linoleum block. I used different blade sizes to carve out parts of the block leaving behind what parts I wanted to show up in the print. After carving I covered it in pink ink and pressed it onto a piece of paper creating my design.

Loteria Print Making
Using the 'cartoon characters' theme that our class chose, I created six prints using different color paper and ink. I made a design of Spider-Man to transfer to a linoleum block and carve out. It was more challenging to carve out the small details, such as in between the letters.

Surrealism Project
At the start of this project, I randomly drew two pieces of paper one with the landscape and one letter. I had to create a surrealist piece of a desert with objects starting with the letter C such as candles, a cactus, a city, and a clown.

Graffiti Name Project
In this project, our class was assigned to create a layered graffiti piece out of cardboard. At the start, we looked at the works of famous graffiti artists such as Keith Haring and Banksy to understand the art style and get inspiration. I created my name, a backdrop, and a background of a mouth in my piece. I painted in the shadings and patterns before adding spacers between each layer. The most challenging part of this project was just figuring out what I would like to create and want to keep.
